I must apologize as this was a direct result of my fangirling over Balthier. I finished playing FF12 last holiday and I could not get enough of him and the suave lines he delivered *_* I love gentlemanly smooth talkers~ yum.

As for the picture itself, I initially pictured Balthier sitting in that bar he frequented in Rabanastre, but as I was looking for portrait reference I came across a lot of classical paintings so I decided I would try to do it in an old classical kind of style. I'm forcing myself to learn to paint faces better...

Omg, this is so sexy. I love the lighting. I immediately thought Renaissance painting - or Carravaggio or Rembrandt. Good job. Damn, I can't believe you had the patience for that vest.

hahaha honestly though, the face gave me the most trouble. I repainted that sucker about 8-9 times over cuz I suck at faces. So glad you like it *__* Share in my Balthier fangirling!!! Balthier's voice.../faint

I found the game itself dragged on a bit at the end...the story and voice acting (and balthier) were the only things that kept me going to finish it.

Ugh, that vest... a cosplayer/artist's nightmare, but you pulled it off nicely :D
